You Hold the Key!

Genesis 26:12-13 Isaac was living in a strange land and going through the worst time of his life. He could have run, but instead decided to stay and face it. He could have waited, but decided to do something now! Listen, "Isaac sowed in that land." He did what he could and believed that God would do what he could not! Listen to what happened, "Jehovah blesses him and gave him 100 times more, and he went forward and grew!" What reward - Divine provision, progress and great personal growth! Your seed is the door to your future! Whether your seed is money, time, effort, words or even prayer, the key is: Give God what you have and He will give you back what you need! Not only did the seed Isaac sowed solve his present problem, it unlocked his future and began a season of great personal growth. Isn't that what you want? I know it's what I want. Isaac gave his way out of trouble and you can too.

God has certain laws in motion, which always work. The Harvest Law is the same way! Listen,"Knowing that whatever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord (Ephesians 6:8) Today then take what you have; however little it may seem, put it to work for God. Sow into His kingdom and expect with all your heart to receive back a harvest, progress and personal growth!

Get Ready for a Miracle!

Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it. John 2:5

The first miracle Jesus ever worked was at a wedding. Somebody was wise enough to send Him an invitation, too. Do you need a miracle today? Invite Jesus, listen carefully to what He tells you- and do it! That day, He told them too pour water into empty water pots. It didn't make any sense, but neither did walking around the walls of Jericho, or rubbing clay on a blind man's eyes. Yet the walls fell down and the blind man received his sight. Jesus told them, "Give me what you've got and I'll give you back that you need." He still works that way; it's called the Law of sowing and reaping. (2 Corinthians 9:6-11)

Jesus also knows how to fill your empty nets, and get you out of debt. Look at Peter, "that night they caught nothing, for then there's no doubt about who gets the credit. Peter knew a lot about fishing, but Jesus knew more- He knew where the fishing were biting. God knows the right place, the right time, and the right way to meet your needs, so do what He tells you. If you do, you'll be greatly blessed. Peter caught so many fish that he had to give away to others. There it is- 'more that enough' and it's still the way He works. First, He'll bless you, and then He'll bless other through you. But remember, the formula is always this, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it!" (John 2:5)

New Year, New You

Welcome to the New Year!

The Capital Stewardship Campaign is well on it way and people are giving beyond their commitments and sowing seed into the good ground of Erie Christian Fellowship. God is doing a new thing this year and we are excited not only for the church but for the lives of God's people, YOU. It is never too late to get involved with the campaign if you feel lead to participate. Ask for a commitment card and begin to give on your seedvelope.

In the Bible it says that those who sow will also reap a harvest. We have been learning about the importance of harvesting seed sown on Wednesday Bible Study with Brother Paul Luciano. The study is revealing that there are 3 parts to prosperity, sowing, time and reaping or harvesting. We often only concentrate on the sowing, waiting a long time and wonder what happened to the reaping. Come out to hear more and I am sure you will be blessed!

New- Weekly Devotions A Little Every Day

As part of the blog posts, more than just our weekly totals will be posted. We plan to post testimonies, devotions and updates for the course of this year's campaign.

This week we are posting an introduction to our devotions. The purpose of the devotion is to help us to grow spiritually and to conitue to learn what the Word says about finances and giving, to explore the promises of God and to further develop the faith needed to follow through on our goals.

A Little Every Day
....the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed... Luke 13:18-19

If you're going to grow in the Kingdom of God, you are going to do it just like a mustard seed that's been planted in the ground. How does it grow- All at once? No, it grows constantly- 24 hours a day- a little all the time until it accomplishes what it was created to do. There's no such thing as an overnight success in the Kingdom, of God! Real strength, real growth come as you consistently and constantly keep the Word before your eyes, in your ears, and in the midst of your heart. Not just when you want to or when you feel like it, but constantly, like the seed a little all the time.

We Are On Our Way!

During October, we looked ahead to the opportunities before us in 2011. We looked upon God’s “exceeding great and precious promises.” We looked around and heard many testimonies of God’s faithfulness. And, we looked within and listened to the Lord’s gentle instructions spoken to our hearts.

What pleases me most is that our congregation is now aligned with our goals for the next twelve months. I am satisfied that everyone is better equipped to evaluate their financial priorities in light of Kingdom priorities and promises. To me, that is a win!

On Sunday, November 14th, I joyfully announced that Jason Ackerman is joining our staff in the position of Connections Ministry Director. Our ability to respond to this “God opportunity” is a direct result of the goals we set through our Capital Campaign. Our next step is to fill the position for Student Ministries Pastor having oversight of both Youth (Junior and Senior Highs) and Young Adults (19 through 29 years old) Ministries.

As we continue to develop momentum within our church, we will grow numerically and financially. With the Lord’s favor, I am certain we may even complete our sanctuary project during the coming year! The scripture reminds us, “His power at work in us can do far more than we dare ask or imagine” Ephesians 3:20b.

We are excited to announce that this webpage will be updated weekly with testimonies, devotionals and updates. Throughout the year we will send periodic letters to thank you for your stewardship and to keep you updated. Also, I will share from the pulpit monthly to communicate with our entire congregation.

I now set myself in agreement with you for increase, favor and supernatural abundance!

It All Starts Now

Greetings in the name of the Lord!

During October we focused on “Generations”, our Capital Campaign for the next 12 months. The Generations theme is taken from Psalm 102:18 that says “Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord”. Our work and labor of love is for today as well as for people yet to be created!

During our Campaign, we shared exciting plans for the next 12 months and how you may prepare and participate.

Here’s a quick recap!

We are challenging every person to tithe. That means to honor the Lord by trusting Him with the first 10% of your increase. Here’s the promise from Proverbs 3:9-10: “Honor the Lord by giving him the first part of all your income, and he will fill your barns with wheat and barley and overflow your wine vats with the finest wines.” To the tither, God promises radical and extreme favor!

Beyond the tithe, we have set three goals:

Caring Goal of $150,000 - Every family or single person sowing an additional $13/week. This will reduce our mortgage balance and help us to hire additional staff (Connections Pastor, Youth Pastor and Supportive staff).

Sharing Goal of $325,000 – Every family or single person sowing an additional $28/week. This will allow us to accomplish the Caring Goal PLUS upgrade our platform and install much needed audio equipment.

Daring Goal of $450,000 – Every family or single person sowing an additional $39/week. This will allow us to complete the above goals PLUS install beautiful and much needed electronic outdoor signs AND finish our sanctuary floor.

God has great plans for us in the coming year. Will you pray about how you will participate in our Generations campaign? I guarantee that exciting things are ahead for you personally and for ECF as we align ourselves with God’s exceeding great and precious promises.

I am certain the Lord will direct our hearts so that a great miracle of ongoing supply will be manifest over the coming months!

Here's My Challenge

Fellow Believer,

I thank God for you as we join together in this year’s Stewardship Campaign. “Generations”, our 2011 theme, speaks clearly as to why ongoing stewardship is vital. We are sowing into present and future generations. All of us have benefitted from the goodness and sacrifices of others. This is our season to “sow forward”
and be blessed in the process.

Here’s my challenge. If you do not tithe (honor the Lord with your first 10%), will you begin to trust God with what is rightfully His? Secondly, will you pray about your personal commitment beyond your tithe, for the next 12 months, so that our church may move forward with necessary capital improvements?

I assure you, the Lord will abundantly provide as you make Kingdom priorities your priorities during our “Generations” campaign!
